It was a last minute plan from my father to join the Gokarna and Vibhuti waterfalls trip organized by Hyderabad backpackers group. The trip was confirmed just 4 hours before the train departure time. We packed our backpack in a hurry and reached Lingampally railway station around 4pm, the train was late by 45 min from the departure time. After a long wait we boarded the train to Hubli.
When I got on the train I met many people who were part of the trip. We introduced ourselves and exchanged our names. The group was so friendly. As I was getting bored, the group members tried to engage me with puzzles and games. I played tic tac toe with Neha and played Name, Place, Animal, thing with Sharath, Neha and Shiva. After that we all played uno for some time. It was dinner time and we all shared food with each other. We’re talking all night then suddenly the railway cops came and asked why are you talking? Everyone was sleeping in the train, the policeman said and he left after sometime. We stopped the discussion and slept silently.
Day 1: We reached Hubli around 6: 15 am the next morning. We took a selfie in the hubli railway station and left the place. Hubli station has the World’s Longest Railway platform. After some time we brushed our teeth and waited for the bus to pick us up for Gokarna. The bus came around 7 am and we all got into the bus. After an hour's journey we stopped for breakfast, I ate dosa and vada. We played games on the bus and some of our friends danced and had fun. It took us another 3 hours to reach Gokarna. Around 12: 3opm we reached Gokarna, we took a group selfie and started walking towards the Gokarna beach. It was quite hot, so we all wore hats/caps and sunglasses. After we reached the beach, we played in the sea waves and took pictures. The next destination was Kudle beach. We did a small trek to reach Kudle beach. Once we reached the Kudle beach, it started drizzling. We had some fun in the waters and then went for lunch. The lunch was at Sea rock cafe. I had pasta and a nutella sandwich, the food was very delicious. Post lunch we started to the Om beach. While I was walking I found a stick and I drew a line for others so they wouldn't get lost. We reached Om beach around sunset time, I played in the waves and made some shapes in the sand. I had the best moments of the day at Om beach.
We were done visiting the places for the day. The resting place was at Shawaasa beach resort, we reached the resort around 8:30 pm, it was drizzling at the time. We got freshen up and got in to the swimming pool, we were in pool for more than an hour, we swam for some time and played catches with the ball. We got freshen up again and had dinner. The campfire was cancelled as it continue to drizzle. Finally I got into one of the tents given to us, I was so happy as I was sleeping in a tent for a first time right next to beach. That was one wonderful experience to cherish.
Day 2: We got up in the morning and spent some time on the Shwaasa Beach and took a few photos. The beach was so serene and beautiful. We got ready and started from Shwaasa Beach at 7:30 am.
We reached Murudeshwar around 9:30 am. Murudeshwar is popular for the tall lord shiva idol. We visited the temple and then saw the Rn shetty and lord shiva statues.
After that we proceeded to Vibhuti falls. While going to Vibhuti falls we stopped at a restaurant for breakfast, I ate idli and dosa. After breakfast we started our journey to Vibhuti falls, it took 2 hours for us to reach Vibhuti falls. From the parking place a small trek is required to reach the waterfall, the route was a little slippery, so we had to be careful while walking.
The waterfall was so beautiful and mesmerizing. We got our life jackets and got into the fall. The water was so chilled, I shivered a little but enjoyed being in the water flow. We spent an hour in the water playing with the everyone in the group.
After that we started back to Hubli. On the way we stopped at a restaurant for lunch, I ate chapati and curd rice. After lunch we continued to Hubli, it was quite a long drive, we reached Hubli station around 7 pm and boarded train around 9 pm.
Next day morning we reached Kacheguda railway station, it was time to say Good bye to everyone. I said bye to everyone and left the station. End of a wonderful trip.
I would like to Thank every one who made my trip memorable, special thanks to the group lead Shiva, who took extra care of me. I wish to travel with group again in future.
